Cape Town & The Winelands

DAY 1 | ARRIVE IN CAPE TOWN 

Meet your private guide at The Queen Victoria Boutique Hotel on Cape Town’s cosmopolitan Waterfront at 2pm. Enjoy a welcome orientation and overview of your exciting 5 days ahead.

After settling in at your hotel your guide will take you on a fascinating City Tour of Cape Town’s most interesting sights where you’ll get a great understanding of the city, the South African culture, and the country’s colorful and storied past.

End the day with sunset drinks and dinner at one of Cape Town’s best and most loved restaurants.

DAY 2 | TABLE MOUNTAIN & COOKING COURSE 

After breakfast, meet your guide and embark on a morning up Table Mountain! Choose to hike up one of the many challenging routes, or take the cable car if you’re not feeling energetic. At the top, explore the exquisite views, the trails, and the endemic fauna and flora found only on Table Mountain. Enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate before making your way down again via cable car.

At lunch time you’ll parktake in a fun and informative Cape Malay cooking course with a local lady in the comfort of her home in the colorful Bo-Kaap (the Cape Malay Quarter). Learn about the Cape Malay history and how the traditional food has played such an important role in the history and culture of Cape Town and her people.

Enjoy a relaxed evening at your leisure.

DAY 3 | CAPE POINT, BOULDER’S BEACH & KALK BAY

After breakfast, enjoy a breathtakingly scenic drive along Chapman’s Peak Drive and along the Cape Peninsula to Cape Point Nature Reserve. Explore the point with its crashing waves and hostile conditions before heading to Boulder’s Beach to see Africa’s only penguin colony.

Enjoy a delicious, laidback seafood lunch in the seaside town of Kalk Bay as you watch seals frolic in the chilly ocean beside you! Grab an ice cream and take a stroll through the quaint village of Kalk Bay before heading back to your hotel for a relaxed evening.

DAY 4 | KIRSTENBOSCH GARDENS & CONSTANTIA WINELANDS

After breakfast you’ll head to the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens set against the lush and leafy side of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch is the world’s best example of the Cape region’s endemic “fynbos” and it’s a kaleidoscope of fascinating color and birdlife.

Make your way to another beautiful location down the road – Groot Constantia (South Africa’s oldest wine estate), which is home to exceptional grounds and gorgeous views over the Cape Flats all the way to False Bay. Here you’ll learn about the estate’s wines, its history and heritage before enjoying a delicious wine tasting followed by an exceptional lunch in the spacious grounds under their towering, ancient oak trees.

Embark on a fun kayak tour from Granger Bay in the late afternoon before having some much-needed down time at your hotel.

DAY 5 | LION’S HEAD & DEPART TO STELLENBOSCH 

After breakfast, enjoy an exhilarating 2-hour hike up Lion’s Head Mountain. This is a spectacular trail that’s suitable for most fitness levels and it offers Cape Town’s best views once you’re on the top! Check out of your hotel and make your way to the gorgeous Winelands town of Stellenbosch. This town is steeped in history and is world-renowned for its beauty and its excellent wine estates.

Take a short tour of the town’s most interesting sights and grab a coffee before visiting Hidden Valley Estate for a wine tasting and delicious lunch while overlooking the Stellenbosch valley. Make your way to Franschhoek via the Helshoogte Pass where you’ll do your next wine tasting at one of the exceptional estates on this towering pass.

Finally, arrive at your boutique hotel in the heart of Franschhoek. Settle in and enjoy a quiet evening. Franschhoek translates to “French Corner” and it’s a quaint and beautiful French-style town set against the breathtaking Franschhoek Mountains.

DAY 6 | FRANSCHHOEK WINELANDS

Explore the best Franschhoek has on offer today with a brunch-time tasting at the stunning Le Lude Estate, famous for their MCC’s (sparkling wines). Visit one of the oldest and most established wine farms in the Cape, Boschendal Estate, for a tasting followed by a gorgeous picnic lunch on their sprawling lawns.

Boschendal is a vast wine and agricultural estate with a “farm-to-fork” philosophy where all their produce and stock is grown and raised organically, using the most environmentally and sustainable farming methods. Visit the Farm Shop or their incredible Deli for gifts and treats to take home with you!

Visit one of the country’s top restaurants, Chef’s Warehouse, for your last “farewell” dinner.

DAY 7 | BABYLONSTOREN ESTATE & DEPART

This is your last day in the Winelands where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Babylonstoren Estate with its world-renowned gardens before settling into a wine tasting and lunch in their exquisite restaurant.

Head to the airport with your private transfer for your onward plans.
